Certification
All RPEI League coaches coaching at the House league level need to be trained at the NCCP Community Sport Initiation (CSI) level.
Coaches must be 14 years of age or turning 14 in the present year to begin CSI training.
Coaches will be required to make an account on the Coaching Association of Canada website "The Locker" to track their certifications.

STEPS
3. Complete the CSI workshop-
There are several 2023 upcoming virtual CSI courses being offered on Sept 26, Oct 10, Oct 30, Nov 21
RPEI will also be scheduling an in-person session this fall, date TBD if online doesn't suit your needs.
4. Complete a Make Ethical Decisions (MED) course- FREE
This is put on by Sport PEI, There is a ZOOM online course being offered on Sept 28 2023

5. Complete Make Ethical Decisions (MED) online evaluation in ‘The Locker -FREE
6. NCCP Maintenance of Certification: Accumulate 10 PD points over 5 years
* There may be some upfront costs to register, however, our association will reimburse all expenses for this course incurred to become a coach.

Ringette PEI also recommends bench staff have Respect in Sport training and Making headway certification
Ringette PEI has a volunteer screening process that includes a current (within 3 years) Vulnerable Record Check.
All volunteers or staff in positions of trust as deemed by RPEI or any of its member clubs, including coaches, assistant coaches, managers, and other positions when deemed necessary shall have an up-to-date VRC on file with their home club.
